Former Camper Now Full Time Missionary
Anna Montgomery was first introduced to Selah over a decade ago when she attended as a camper. Like so many other children over the years Anna enjoyed splashing in the creek, crafts and games, memorizing Bible verses, and learning about missionaries that devoted their lives to telling others about God‘s gift of eternal life thru Christ Jesus.
While attending Liberty University Anna returned to Selah working for several summers as a counselor for both Day Camp and Overnight Camp. Upon graduation from Liberty, Anna married John Dalton who is also a Liberty graduate. John majored in missions and has worked as a volunteer at Selah as well. As part of his mission studies John spent a summer with New Tribes Mission in Papua New Guinea. That trip would forever change their lives. The Lord placed a burden on their hearts for the people of Papua New Guinea.
As a counselor at Selah Anna’s goal was to form relationships with the girls in an effort to show God‘s love through friendship and example. Her goals have not changed only her location. On Sunday January 14, 2007 Anna and John headed to their new home in Papua New Guinea, where they will work with New Tribes Mission to share God’s Word with the people there. Please pray for their safety and effectiveness as they begin this journey with the Lord. This couple is special to me not only because of their connection with Selah but also because John is my wife’s youngest brother. It’s exciting to see Selah campers reaching out across the globe.
